One of Tokyo's burger veterans is back with hearty charcoal-grilled burgers, now in Yotsuya.

A charcoal-grilled bacon cheeseburger with thick bacon and grilled onion in Yotsuya. Solid rather than spectacular, but worth a stop if you're nearby.
I'd been tipped off that THE BURGER STAND FELLOWS served really good burgers, and that's a tip that's hard to resist when you're in Tokyo. So I made a stop in Yotsuya to see if the rumor held up. In short, it does.
THE BURGER STAND FELLOWS has been part of Tokyo's burger scene for a long time. The previous location in Omotesando closed in 2025, but in 2026 they reopened in Yotsuya in Shinjuku and are carrying on with the same idea as before: hearty burgers with the meat grilled over charcoal. It's not a complicated concept, and it doesn't need to be. The focus is on the burger and on doing it properly.
I ordered their Bacon Cheeseburger, and it's built to fill you up. The beef patty is substantial, and the charcoal grill gives it a distinct grilled character. The bacon is thick and tasty, and the grilled onion really lifted the burger. The sweetness of the onion balances the saltiness of the bacon and the richness of the cheese, so everything comes together really well. It doesn't redefine the genre, but it's a solid, well-built burger with great flavors.
The name says quite a lot about what kind of place this is. You come to FELLOWS for the burger. Here the food is at the center, not grand gestures or a long show. Sometimes that's exactly what you want when you're hungry.
FELLOWS delivers a really good burger, but it's more solid than spectacular. So I wouldn't make a long detour across Tokyo for it. If you're near Yotsuya and craving a good burger, though, THE BURGER STAND FELLOWS is definitely worth a visit. My tip is to come hungry and go for the Bacon Cheeseburger, where charcoal-grilled beef, thick bacon and grilled onion get the job done.
