Meat On A Stick

Roslagsgatan 6, 113 55 Stockholm, Sweden· Kebab· €€· Last visited April 2026
Meat On A Stick is a really nice place for those who like kebab but want something more refined than the classic standard variety. It is clear that the owner has truly geeked out over kebab – or perhaps more accurately, over the whole concept of meat on a stick. Here, it's not just about serving a regular kebab in bread or a bowl, but about interpreting kebabs from different parts of the world and creating their own versions with distinct flavors and personal style. I have eaten here several times, and it has always been good. Above all, it is the quality that makes the place stand out. The meat is of a high standard, the sauces are really tasty, and the overall experience feels carefully crafted. You rarely get kebab this good in Sweden. Often, kebab can feel quite standardized, but here you can tell that every dish has a concept behind it. It's kebab, but with more thought, more character, and more craftsmanship. I have tried most of the menu, and there are several really good options. My favorites are the "Houston" as a kebab in bread, as well as the "Austin" and "Tokyo" as bowls. These might not be the most classic kebabs on the menu, but that's exactly why I like them. They clearly demonstrate what Meat On A Stick does well: taking the foundation of a kebab and then building on it with their own flavor combinations, influences, and sides that make the dishes more exciting. For me, the pork kebab is the best. I should mention that I almost always prefer pork kebab when it's on the menu, but here I really think it comes into its own. It has great flavor, good texture, and pairs very well with the sauces and sides. I have also tried the chicken and the lamb, and they are also good, but my personal ranking is pork first, then chicken, and then lamb. The premises are quite stripped-back and simple. It might not be the kind of place where you sit for a whole evening, but that isn't really the point either. On the other hand, it's a perfect spot to grab one or two beers and eat a really solid kebab. It's relaxed, simple, and delicious, with a focus on the food rather than a formal restaurant experience. What I like most about Meat On A Stick is that it feels authentic. There is a clear concept, a genuine interest, and a desire to make kebab in a better way. When someone has actually geeked out on the details, it shows, and here it shows in the meat, the sauces, and the combinations on the menu. In summary, Meat On A Stick is one of the better kebab places I have tried in Sweden. High quality, great flavors, really tasty sauces, and a menu that makes you want to come back. An obvious stop if you like kebab and want to try something that is both relaxed and well-thought-out.
