Hasselsson tusenlager

I've tried several of Hasselsson's eateries over the years, and one thing that consistently stands out is that they really know what they're doing. It's the kind of thing you learn to trust. So when I found Hasselsson Tusenlager in Stora Saluhallen by Kungstorget, expectations were high, and they were met. The concept is stripped-back and to the point: a sandwich built on a Chinese thousand-layer bread, that airy, flaky bread that gives loads of texture. It's fast food, but made with care and a clear idea. You can tell that someone has geeked out over both the bread and the filling, and the location right in the middle of the Saluhallen is perfect for a quick but well-thought-out stop. The sandwich itself is filled with slow-cooked duck, vegetables and chili mayo, and also comes with a nice little extra touch marinated in chili. The combination works really well. The slow-cooked duck, the freshness of the vegetables and the gentle heat of the chili mayo make it well balanced without being too heavy. It simply tastes darn good, and the thousand-layer bread lifts the whole thing with its structure. Stora Saluhallen is a lovely setting in itself, with life and movement and that special energy only a market hall has. Grabbing your sandwich here becomes an experience in its own right, whether you eat in or take it with you out into the city. Hasselsson Tusenlager delivers exactly what you'd hope for: a great sandwich with flavor, balance and a little something extra.
