Celeste

Celeste is a place I have so far only visited for lunch twice, but both times the lunch experience has been very good. It is a restaurant that feels well-thought-out, pleasant, and a bit more ambitious than many other lunch spots. A big plus is that during the summer, lunch moves out to the rooftop bar. It adds a lot to the overall experience. The environment up there is really lovely to sit in, especially when the weather is good. It feels relaxed but at the same time a bit luxurious, making for a lunch that feels more like a small break from everyday life than just a quick meal. Another positive detail is the open kitchen in the middle of the restaurant up on the rooftop bar. There, you can watch the chefs prepare the food and grill both meat and vegetables. It brings life to the space and makes the experience more personal. It is always nice when you get to see the craftsmanship behind the food, especially when you can actually tell there is care put into the cooking. The food has had great flavors during my visits. It has felt well-prepared, balanced, and delicious without being overcomplicated. The staff has also been pleasant and the service has been good. The only thing I would have wished for is that the staff were a bit more proactive in presenting the food. When the dish of the day isn't clearly stated on the menu, it would have been nice if it was presented right when the menu is handed out, instead of having to ask yourself. The same goes for the food when it is served, a short presentation of what is on the plate would have elevated the feeling further. In summary, Celeste is a really good lunch choice, especially during the summer when lunch is served on the rooftop bar. Good flavors, nice staff, an open kitchen feel, and an environment that makes lunch a bit more special. I would happily return.
